DESCRIPTION FOR YOUTH
SECTION CHAIRMAN
To do
this job well you must:
- Have plenty of ideas and the energy
and skills to turn them into reality.
- Be enthusiastic about coaching and
organising the game of Rugby Union.
- Be interested in people including
children.
- Have good organisation
skills (including attention to detail).
- Have good communication
skills.
- Be highly diligent and
reliable (attend necessary meetings – Youth Section, Club, County
etc.).
- Have tact and
discretion.
- Be
able to maintain confidentiality (e.g Child Protection issues).
- Be able to lead and supervise others,
always setting a good personal example.
- Be able to delegate
tasks.
- Be able to react to opportunities and
make smart decisions.
Responsibilities
-
Chairing Youth
Section Meetings and attending other meetings (Club, County, etc).
-
Managing the
Youth Section budget.
-
Mentoring and
guiding Youth Section administrators.
-
Initiating,
guiding and overseeing Youth Rugby activities.
-
Liasing with
other Youth section and Club Officers.
-
Liasing with
members.
-
Child
Protection issues (in conjunction with the Child Welfare
Officer).
-
Ensuring regular audits of condition
and suitability for use of all training equipment are performed.
-
Identification and recruitment of administrators, coaches
and helpers
(volunteers) for the
Youth Rugby Section.
-
Liasing with
Sussex RFU Youth Management Group.

records.

Liasing with
members.

Identification
and recruitment of administrators, coaches and helpers (volunteers) for the
Youth Rugby Section.

Training your
replacement.

- Be computer literate (including conversancy with MS
Excel).
- Be methodical, reliable and
trustworthy.
- Be able to communicate
effectively.
- Be able to maintain
confidentiality.
- Be able to react to opportunities and
make decisions
Responsibilities

Calculating
budget forecasts.

Preparing
monthly Youth Section management accounts.

Preparing annual
Youth Section accounts and presenting to Club Honorary
Treasurer at least
3 weeks before the Club AGM.

Making
payments as Youth Section Cheque account signatory.
-
Control of
where and how Youth Section funds are banked and saved.
-
Liasing with
the Club Honorary Treasurer on a regular basis.
-
Attending
Youth Section Management and General committee meetings
-
Identification and recruitment of administrators, coaches
and helpers
(volunteers) for the
Youth Rugby Section.

Training your
